Virgin Voyages - Day 4 - At Sea

Somewhere beyond the sea
Somewhere waiting for me
— Beyond the Sea (Bobby Darin)

I began Day 4 with a VERY lazy morning and took advantage of the hammock on my balcony.  I honestly could do that every day; I loved it so much.  I was lazy that I didn't even go grab breakfast, I took advantage of the Ship Eats (the room service) ate my breakfast in my room.  The thing I was most amused about with Ship Eats is that they make everything fit into these reusable containers and it fits perfectly into these zipped bags.  It's really smart so things don't spill or move around too much.

I met some friends for lunch in “The Galley”.  I checked out the tacos this time!  However, I kept raving about the fries, so we got 2 orders of those for the table.  One fun thing we didn't realize until this day was that you could use a flag on the table to flag down a server and order from any of the kiosks and not have to wait in line!  I probably would have utilized that more often had I noticed earlier, sometimes those lines could get long OR you order, and you awkwardly stand while you wait for your food.  It means it's fresh though, so I appreciate that!

After lunch, we all decided to check out "Bingo with the Diva" which was an EVENT!  Sadly, no one in our group won. I was shocked and how much money some of these people were wining.  I'm not surprised though, every single seat in this theater was full.  After Bingo, I grabbed some ice cream (Key Lime Pie and vanilla) and went back to my room to watch Legally Blonde until it was time for 1st dinner.

I don't normally eat 2 dinners in a day, but I guess that's the perk of a vacation where meals are included.  In an attempt to check out all the entertainment, we wanted to see "It's a Ship Show" which included dinner, but we also wanted to check out one of the other restaurants, so we decided to do both!  To be honest, I'm glad we had a backup dinner, because this menu for the show was pre-selected and it wasn't my favorite meal for sure.  I wasn't planning to eat that much anyway, so it worked out.  The show was a variety show, music, acrobats, dancers, singers, and some audience participation.  They had a "Name that Tune" game which I wasn't on stage for, but had I been, I would have won!  I'm good at that game.  Ask anyone who plays me in SongPop ;)

After 1st dinner, some of us went to the Italian restaurant onboard, Extra Virgin.  I didn't eat much at the first dinner, but I was definitely prepared to eat all the courses at this restaurant.  There are 4 courses here including a pasta course and an entrée.  I was going to skip the pasta until I saw they had gnocchi and that they could make it without mushrooms!  It was VERY buttery, and I surprisingly did not get sick, which is good, because I ate all of it.

After 2nd dinner (real dinner?), our group gathered for karaoke.  They have these private karaoke rooms that you can sign up to use.  They have a few different sizes of rooms available.  Being the music person I am, I took charge of our playlist, which wasn't very hard to figure out for a bunch of Disney-loving adults, but don't worry, we had some Carrie Underwood and Christmas music thrown in the mix too.  We ended up having the best time in there, everyone was surprised how much we all loved it. Highly recommend!  It might have been my favorite entertainment offering on the entire trip.
