Virgin Voyages - Day 5 - Bimini
Remember me
Though I have to travel far — Remember Me (Coco)
Today was our last full day of the voyage! Our port was in Bimini which is a tiny island chain in the Bahamas. The cruise line has a private club there where they have food and a pool party and beach space. There was a complimentary tram that took us to the club, it also stopped on the way for people that wanted to do other things or have excursions. I opted to head to the club to scope out the seating situation. Some of my friends were already at the beach, so I found an empty chair and carried it over. I wasn't the ideal beach day for sure as it kept sprinkling on and off. Eventually, we gave up and decided to check out the food situation which was SO good. I really wasn't expecting anything spectacular, but we were all pleasantly surprised, everything had island vibes and flavors and it was just as tasty as all the food on the ship.
After the meal, we decided to find a spot to camp out for the pool party. Again, in Virgin Voyages fashion, this party was high energy and super interactive. They threw lots of fun inflatable rafts in the pool. One thing that I had to comment us is you can have drinks in the pool, and I'm so used to resorts that don't allow food or beverage in the actual pool. It's a good way for them to make more beverage sales for sure. Again, just like for Scarlet Night, I was in the middle of the action for a bit and then slowly snuck out to the "quiet" pool which had the swim up - ish bar at it. You could still hear the music from the party, but all the action was over there. I did journey back out the beach later to check out what that was like during the party, and if you want to avoid the party altogether, you can definitely hang out at the beach and have a more tranquil day at the club.
The clouds started to get even darker, so I opted to head back to the ship early so I could shower and rest before dinner. I also wanted to have some more hammock balcony time. I'm telling you; I'm obsessed with that thing. When I go back and do another sailing, I will budget more time in for this hammock.
Dinner was at “Pink Agave” this night, which is their Mexican restaurant. I cannot wait to go back and get this restaurant again. I loved it so much! I just loved the vibe; we also had a super fun table since there was a group of us and the food and drinks were all good! P.S. if dessert tacos are involved, count me in.
After dinner, I wanted to test out the "shake for champaign" feature on the app, so some of us opted to change into comfy clothes and sat in one of the MANY cozy nooks on the ship and drank champagne. It honestly was one of the best ways to end the cruise.
The next day was super easy. You sign up for a disembarkation time on the app ahead of time and then leave! It's all very painless. The nice thing about this cruise line is the time is much later so you don't have to get up super early to get off of the ship.
I highly recommend this entire experience to everyone. I can't wait to get on another one and explore even more!
