Learn

I love to know things. This is true for nearly every aspect of my life, including people's personal lives; I apologize if you have been a victim of my line of questioning.  This applies to more than people's life stories though.  If I'm in a conversation and we are trying to figure out an answer, I'm either already looking it up or making plans to research it soon after.

While I love to know things, I also love to educate others on what I have learned.  This has trickled over into my professional life as I've been working in Learning and Development / Training for over a decade.  When I was in my early years of college, I was planning to study Education.  When I started training at the restaurant I was working at (shout out to my time at Bakers Square and Red Robin), I realized not everyone can teach adults, and I was good at it so I took a break from school to figure out what I could do with that. I decided Training was my new career goal.  At the time, the topic wasn't as widely talked about as it is now, so my school didn't offer it as an option for a degree, so I ended up studying Professional Communication, so I could graduate as soon as possible.  After a few years of a break and applying for Training roles and getting continually passed on, I decided I needed to get more education so I could appear more qualified.  I graduated with a Masters in Administrative Education - Workforce Development.  Spoiler alert:  It did not really help me obtain any jobs, but at least I can say I did it!

How does this apply to my blog?  Since I love to learn, I'm constantly learning new skills and facts and naturally, people learn lessons in life as time goes on.  This means I will share these things with all of you.  Most often you will see this show up in my monthly Disney movie themes.  Each month I will be watching one of the Disney animated classics and creating a cocktail, mocktail, and themed meal to go with it.  My cooking skills are basic, so I will be learning some new skills along the way.  I am not using recipes for the drinks so it will be pure experimental mixology, and I can't wait to share some of the ideas I have!

Shout out what Disney movie you are excited for me to post about!
