Fantasia Inspired Travel
I thought it would be fun to do a series of blogs that explore where a fan of a certain movie may want to travel. This could get challenging for me as the movies go on, so be sure to come back each time I switch movies to see what I come up with!
Salzburg, Austria
Why it fits: A classical music lovers’ dream with the birthplace of Mozart and home to baroque architecture and music festivals that feel like a living tribute to Fantasia’s musical soul.
What to do: Visit the Salzburg Festival (summer), tour Mozart’s home, take The Sound of Music tour (not Fantasia related but if you are going to Austria - it’s a must do!) and attend classical concerts in candlelit cathedrals.
Big Island, Hawaii
Why it fits: Think The Rite of Spring volcano scenes minus the dinosaurs
What to do: Explore Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park, stargaze on Mauna Kea, and swim with manta rays at night
Sintra, Portugal
Why it fits: Fairytale settings come to life in lush forests, whimsical palaces, and foggy mountain tops that could house Fantasia’s centaurs and fauns.
What to do: Wander the colorful Pena Palace, hike the mossy trails of the Quinta da Regaleira, and get lost in enchanted gardens of the Park and Palace of Monserrate.
